| DESIGN NAME: Bird Nest Jewelry PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewelry INSPIRATION: Bird's nests and their great natural shapes: The ring is inspired by cup bird's nest and the pendant is inspired by suspended cup bird's nest. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bird nest jewelry is a golden jewelry that is consisted of a ring and a pendant with a pearl in the middle. Tow natural models of bird's nests are inspirations for these jewelries. But the similarity is not just in the form, it is also in the concept. Jewelry is a valuable object for the owner, as a chick is important for its mother. The pearl that is used is a metaphor of the bird's egg. These decorative objects have a message that we have to take care of our environment like birds and their nests. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: These jewelries are designed to be worn on finger and neck. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started and finished in December 2015 in Tehran. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Fusion(Production) Gold and Pearl (Material) SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Ring: 240mm * 200mm * 340mm Pendant: 460mm * 230mm * 190mm TAGS: Jewelry, Fashion Jewelry, Ring, Pendant, Gold, Pearl RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project is consisted of an organic form and beautiful natural object. Tow kinds of the bird's nests are great basic models for this project. Cup bird's nest(the ring) and suspended bird's nest(the pendandt). The 3D model is made by Matrix Gem vision. The goal of this design is to encourage people to keep the earth and have a message that each person is an environment conservator. Thus, a bird's nest is as valuable as a piece of gold. Here, body(finger and neck) is a metaphor of a branch of tree to keep eggs. CHALLENGE: Getting a new idea was the hardest part of the project.
