| DESIGN NAME: Calù PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mini Desk INSPIRATION: The project comes out of the study of the needs of the individual who has no way or time to sit at a desk to work on the computer, or at a table to eat his/ her own meals. Another important point that I considered is to create a modular and easy to dismountable object that could be disassembled and placed anywhere without having an excessive encumbrance. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Calù is composed of necessary elements to those who need an intuitive, comfortable and multi-purpose object: glass and mouse supports, the "C" vertical element , the purpose of which is to do so that nothing slides off the table. The mobile support is completely dismantled, in fact legs and the vertical element are connected to the table via joints, while the two appendices for mouse and drinks are retractable, so that the table, once everything has been reinserted, becomes a single corpus. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The object can be used as a table to eat meals , and as a support for the computer to work . The “C” vertical element does not allow anything to slip out , but it can also be taken away . The object can be dismantled completely , so that it can take up as little space as possible , and so that you can store it anywhere . PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2015 in Bologna and finished in October 2015 in Milan, It was made to enter the competition Trentino Design 3.0 in October 2015. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: the object is composed of two main materials: the body is made from white plastic laminate , while the legs , the supports and the "C" vertical element are made from cedar wood. The legs are realized by bending the wood. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The overall size of the object is: 570 x 350 x 380 mm TAGS: joints, completely disassembled, pure lines, Calù, Mini Desk RESEARCH ABSTRACT: It comes from the study of the needs of people who have no time to eat at a table or work at a desk . Behavioral research , the study of the behavior and needs of this type of people , through an online survey , the result was a request for an object that was easy to use , to store and that can also be used on sofas and beds , in fact, the product is removable and storable and it was created the “c” vertical element to make sure that everything stays inside the table even in rough surfaces. CHALLENGE: The creative challenge was to create a table consisting only of interlocking elements , which had to remain formed by simple lines .
