| DESIGN NAME: curling iron packaging PRIMARY FUNCTION: Packaging INSPIRATION: I was questioning myself on how can I make good and simple design to expressed the curling iron and create a simple design. I was struck with the idea from a shape of a women's hair. I tried to make the iron packaging as the shape of a female’s hair. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project was one of my rebranding project in a class. I decided ‘Conair’ as my project name and this company will sell hair care products. I hoped to make a unique design that anybody can recognize without looking at the actual product. I designed woman's long hair as a packaging example in order to show the curled hair. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The unique feature of this package is the curved box with beautiful hair colors, which can explain the characteristics of a curling iron. This package will leave a strong impression on the costumers and hopefully will be persuaded to buy the product. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 4th 2015 and finished October 18th 2015 in Georgia, United States America FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Packaging Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Cardboard box SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Branding, Package, Product, Unique, Modern, Curling iron,Curling tongs Hair, Conair TAGS: Branding, Package, Product, Unique, Modern, Curling iron,Curling tongs Hair, Conair RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The curling iron package is inspired by the woman’s hair. When I first thought of mockup design, it was worth to make because this package would be unique design and different with other packages. CHALLENGE: When I made 3D package, it was difficult to fit length with the upper side and the bottom side. Because, the design is flexed box so, i tried to printed out mockup many times and figured out the suitable lengths.
