DESIGN NAME: My dear toilet
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Photography
INSPIRATION: The common notion is that the toilet is unsanitary so that even look down on toilet cleaners. But people have forgotten that out growth and life is accompanied by it. It knows our secrets and the true side of us when you liberating or feeling depressed, the toilet always keeps you real. Simultaneously, the toilet seat can also transform into a beautiful frame and makes you an unique painting.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The toilet seat has not yet been made as a piece of artwork, so I found it interesting to introduce the new idea of it. With the expectations of subverting the negative image of it and stopping the discrimination against toilet cleaners, these inspired me creating this project. With toilet cleaners’ efforts, people have a clean and comfortable space for setting ourselves free.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: To created a new scene and new meaning is given to the toilet seat. By doing so, the photographer wants to convey the idea that external value of an entity doesn't mean everything.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project start in March 2012 and finished in April 2012.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Through observation of people's lives, social perspectives and personal values, we found that the subjective consciousness influence our judgment. Therefore, we would like to subvert viewpoints with the work, in order to present the different side of it. Being superficial has a great impact on our lives. Everything has its downsides and upsides, not just what surface looks like. We should look at things without bias, and everything will be beautiful.
CHALLENGE: At beginning, painting and decorating the toilet seat took me a while because I did not want it to be synthesis. It’s hard to control the position of the toilet seat while working; we had to hang up the toilet seat with strings in order to shoot the desired scenes. Also adjustment of model’s facial expression made the work challenging.
