Poluted air purification
The life quality depends on the air quality individuals breathing. In order to enchance the life quality of city residents, the air quaility has to be improved. As a result, OXY2050 was born. The inspiration for OXY2050 comes from diatoms which are tiny, usually single-celled photosynthetic organisms, gaining energy from the sun using chlorophylls.It is estimated that 40% of the earth’s oxygen (02) is produced through the photosynthetic activities of diatoms.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Controlling by remote controllers, the OXY2050 floats over polluted area with the help of helium filled outer shell.It absorbs the polluted air through absorbing turbines.The absorbed air mass is treated with chemical solutions such as potassium hydroxide, activated carbon,calcium hydroxide.After treatment,the purified air is transfered to purified air storages.The purified air releases through sprayers until the air quality becomes moderate.So the hazardous polluted air of the city becomes purified.

Air pollution is a leading environmental threat to the health of urban populations in major cities. Breathing in ozone and PM2.5 can trigger asthma, chronic lung and heart diseases and even lead to death. The life quality depends on the air quality individuals breathing. In order to enchance the life quality of residents, the air quaility has to be improved. OXY2050 has been designed with that purpose.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
It took four months to make researches for the idea.
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Inspired by diatoms, the OXY2050 was designed as a urban air cleaner to purify huge amount of polluted street air. OXY2050 receive significant volumes of street air, and safely treat the air with chemical solutions containing potassium hydroxide, activated carbon, calcium hydroxide, and water inside and release the purified air through their sprayers.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Air quality is monitored in monitoring stations 24/7. When air pollution rate becomes risky, OXY2050 is sent to the air polluted area to purify the air. OXY2050’s motions are controlled by the engineers in monitoring stations remotely. Over GPS, it is tracked and floated by remote controller.

Air Pollution is one of the biggest problems of big cities in recent times which occurs when the air contains gases,dust, fumes in harmful amounts such as PM2.5 and O3.With increasing urbanisation and industrialisation,more wastes were started to be released into the atmosphere since then,air pollution rate increased subsequently.Air pollution is a leading environmental threat to the health of urban populations in major cities. Breathing in ozone and PM2.5 can trigger asthma, chronic lung and heart diseases and even lead to death.Cities struggle to enchance air quality.Therefore clean air laws and regulations are invoked but still several pollutants in the major cities’ air are at levels that are harmful.According to the researches conducted by NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene,air pollution is one of the most significant environmental threats to New Yorkers,contributing to approximately 6% of deaths annually.
