| DESIGN NAME: Sliding Table PRIMARY FUNCTION: Side table for a living area INSPIRATION: The idea behind this objects was taken from the Lego pieces and the diferent possibilities that they present, creating a semi-modular product. In Sliding Table we have different materials and colors inspired by the color contrast of Lego. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The principal aspect of the Sliding Table is the relation between the different pieces. The table has a complementary support by retractable trays and integrated seats. Users number can change, as the conditions of use. Possible aplications such as habitation or office spaces, seating areas or lounge areas. The principal purpose in this design was to create a multifunctional product that facilitates the people daily lives. This design reflects the spirit of modern life and also elegance and versatility that perfectly fits in the different spaces. Sliding Table challenge was optimize the production process and achive a simple product with good finishing, combining different pieces and materials. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This product is more suitable for a younger public, that prefers a multipurpose side table that can be applied in several diferente contexts. The design is based in usage, it is a functional furniture that can be used in different constexts, and it is suitable for new lifestyles. Is great for sharing joyful moments with family and friends. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Sliding Table main structure is produced by a process of cutting aluminum sheets by laser technology, bending and powder coating finishing. The retractable trays are made of coated plywood with matte varnish finish. The integrated seats are structured with plywood and have a fabric upholstery. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Powder aluminum 5 mm thickness sheet with powder coated finishing. Dimensions are 1000mmx1000mmx470mm. The retractable complementary support is made of sycamore coated plywood with matte finishing. The seats have plywood struture and are coated with semi-rigid foam and fabric. TAGS: Side table, Table, Living Room, Simple, Functional. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The principal purpose in this design was to create a multifunctional product that facilitates the people daily lives. This design reflects the spirit of modern life and also elegance and versatility that perfectly fits in the different spaces. Sliding Table challenge was optimize the production process and achive a simple product with good finishing, combining different pieces and materials. CHALLENGE: The creative challenge was to satisfy the requirements and multifunctional areas as well as in small space in urban context for users of an age group between 20 and 35 years old.
