DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
Light line

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Lighting

INSPIRATION:
Brightness is a quality against darkness as day stand against night; femininity with all the elegant shape and mental softness verses masculinity which is also the supplement for it. This perfection of complementary concepts and compensation of their incompetence has made an attitude to be influenced by couples. Presence of brightness and darkness together developed “Light Line” to be the visualization of a woman leaning against her man.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The elegant couple is designed ergonomically with less height to light up both the pavement and the streets more, in a gentle way. The scale is based on human proportions and the larger half is to optimize the directed light onto roadway. The proposed lamps for the light are placed in a way to optimize the diffusion and higher performance. Considering a metal 20*40 rectangle profile as the body of the light it sounds even more constructive with a low budget.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The Light Line is a mass used purpose light to be used as a practical urban light. It is designed based on human and drive way ergonomics. It provides enough ambient light for both passengers and drivers while having a romantic shape. The optional aurdino sensors can be added to the Light to optimize the power consumption. Regarding the optimization; the light and motion sensors can be attached to the body in a subtle way to calculate the data and interact with the environment when necessary.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project has taken place in Tehran during 2015 summer time.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Lighting Products and Fixtures Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Metal work with 20*40 profiles(cutting and welding)+electrics (fuse box, Trans &...)+ LED+ Diffuser Acrylic + Base plate Stand +Proposal : Arduino + light and motion sensors

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
The bounding box for the couple is (200*960*3000 mm). Minimum width at the bottom is 350 mm where the light lands on the ground and Maximum width increases to 950 mm on top where the light diffuser is placed. The thickness is 200mm overall , while it is made of 10 20*40 metal profiles. The street light is 3000mm tall while the pedestrians part is 2700mm.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Studying innovative cases in urban lighting approaches and proposals lead this research to combine art and engineering together and develop an optimized creation in lighting industry. A lack of intelligence and power consumption concern was raised through the results of research. In most cases the industrial look would be too rough, even though considering the costs and ergonomics criteria. The power consumption during the night time and dark hours while there are no passengers is another issue to be raised. An Interactive sort of urban light, mixed with romance would answer the society demand to a better night life quality and day time urban façade.

CHALLENGE:
The purpose of this creation is to bring sense into the synthetic urban-industrial life. The sculptural profiles bring both ergonomics and optimization to cities. To act so; human has been measured once more and considered very sensitive about ambient light. Therefore, direction and angle of light radiation was once more challenged and power consumption was optimized accordingly. The additional option was to add the feature of environmental interaction to this object.
