DESIGN NAME: BOXBOT
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Building Blocks
INSPIRATION: Nowadays, there is a huge waste on toy packaging cost and many toys are not easy to be transport, BOXBOT want to make the packaging as a part of the toy and nested all the parts to save the space when it to be transported.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: BOXBOT is a sustainable building blocks toy. It means"box"plus ROBOT is "BOXBOT". The packaging is a part of the toy,so the packaging can follow the toy to keep for a long time.The centre of each block is hollow, which makes all the blocks cam be nested together. It uses bioplastic to process,which is less energy and high degradation. The children can create different robot figures as their preference.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Each block can be connected with the slide on it. It can be connected to create different robot figures.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2015 in London and finished in March 2015 in London.The BOXBOT has awarded in Spark concept award finalist until now,the final jury is continuing.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I try to do some research on what is the favorite toy between 4-12 years old children. Most children choose building blocks as their preference because of the intelligence and variability. The data collection from the questionnaire from both parents and children in science museum in London.
CHALLENGE: technology and which kind of material to be eco-friend and less-cost as much as possible.
