The bookshelf's design was inspired by the skew lines. The bookshelf provides for the books standing upright, due to the angled shelves, which form the basis of the design.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The bookshelf can be backed up to walls and accessed on one side or can be freestanding and accessed on both sides. It can be used as a single or multiple unit by bringing together side-by-side a number of angled bookshelves. No connection elements are needed for the assembly of the bookshelf.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The angled bookshelf, besides its esthetic appearance, has a high storage capacity, especially for books in different dimensions. The angled bookshelf can be used in homes and offices.

This project/design started in April 2015 in Ankara, Turkey.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The melamine-coated Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) material, which is possible to be reused and whose wastes are almost completely recyclable, was preferred in the production of the angled bookshelf. The angled bookshelf can be assembled in a practical manner without using any connection elements by inserting the notched parts of the shelves into the notched parts of the perpendicular carrier pieces.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Dimensions: 120 cm (w) x 30 cm (d) x 185 cm (h). The pieces of the angled bookshelf for total of 440 each angled bookshelf boxes with a maximum weight of 40 kg each can be placed and transported in a 20 cubic foot container.

The optimal angle was determined by utilizing the skew lines and was reflected in the angled shelves of the bookshelf.
It challenges the usual bookshelf design perceptions with the assembly in a practical manner without using any connection elements and with the angled shelves in contrast to the straight-shelved bookshelves.
