| DESIGN NAME: TriFlex PRIMARY FUNCTION: Light INSPIRATION: Idea was inspired from basic geometries and the flexibility of using them, besides the intersections between sections of wood and metal in general to create a functional product, which was based on several products I have created before depending on the flexible intersection between metal and wood to create an interesting joint to work on. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: TriFlex is a dynamic collection of a single lamp that comes in different colors. The lamp's basic design is based on the equilateral triangle to include the base within for flexibility of use. An aluminium 11 cm plate of 4 mm thickness shapes this Flexible lamp base which can be placed on two of its sides enabling the light -a wooden cylinder with white frosted plastic cover for LED light at the end- to be positioned according to the 4 mm groove in the wood into the aluminum base in three different ways for a tweak in how the lamp could be placed. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Very friendly light to be used in different ways and uses. Simple and casual materials with different colours matching the natural wood in the light. Easy to use on the desk, working table, and on the floor according how the light stick intersect with the base. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Design concept and development of the project started in May 2015 and finished in September 2015 in Amman, Jordan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Simple combination of wood and aluminium with the technology of LED light. Folded base of aluminium shaped within an equilateral triangle to provide balance on all sides. The Grooved cylindrical wooden part fits exactly and easily in the cuts within the aluminium base according to the direction needed. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Folded aluminium plate 4 mm thickness x 110 mm within an equilateral triangle 410 mm. Light stick 40 mm diameter, 275 mm wooden part, 255 mm frosted plastic with LED light.
