DESIGN NAME: HUTONG COURTYARD VILLAGES
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Luxury Residential model House
INSPIRATION: We applied the concepts of “xian (leisure)”, “yin (conceal)”, “you (travel)”, and “shang (admiration)” from Eastern aesthetics to the spatial design. “Leisure, conceal, travel, and admiration” are a style of aesthetics, as well as an artistic conception, pursued by Chinese literati. Within the royal luxuriousness of the north, we hope to better provide an ambience reminiscent of the aesthetic philosophy pursued by Chinese literati.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: With the courtyard as a centerpiece, we connect the sentimental links of
“home” Hutong Courtyard ), utilizing a modern approach to re-interpret traditional Chinese philosophy and wisdom of living. We put great emphasis on the living experienced by people within the space. Thus, to experience the contemporary Eastern lifestyle constructed and reverent of “Xian (leisure)”, “Yin (conceal)”, “You(travel)”, and “Shang (admiration)” has become the ultimate luxury among the bustle of modern society.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: “Mansion within courtyards, and courtyards within Mansion”, producing a contemporary Chinese mansion experience.

CHALLENGE: Hutong Courtyard Villages is situated in Sunhe Town, Chaoyang District, Beijing, and is a featured part of the high-end residential housing landscape. Hutong Courtyard Villages offers not only exceptional value on the market, but also it seeks to more accurately bring Eastern aesthetics to light through the rumination of Chinese culture. From its architecture to its interior design, the building creates a sense of “Mansion within courtyards, and courtyards within Mansion”, producing a contemporary Chinese mansion experience.
