DESIGN NAME:
Kopos® | Limited Edition
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
INSPIRATION:
Kopos olive oil is a high quality product, carefully selected from locations around Greece. Its name, the Greek word for toil, reflects the hard work that lies behind the production and processing of this quality olive oil that we believe will add taste to your everyday dietary needs.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In order to improve the crop quality, the olive trees are pruned when necessary. The branches are collected and once they have been selected and processed they become caps for the olive oil packaging.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Interaction occurs through the matte painting of the glass and the colors carefully selected as a direct reference to the olive tree as well as the wooden cap made from the tree branches. The whole concept is based on this interaction with nature.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in July 2014 in Corfu and finished in July 2015 in Athens.

Silkscreen print on glass and cap from physical olive tree wood.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
A detailed brief was made based on a list of questions to identify the company culture and procedure of the production. A visit also on site was really helpful for a personal experience on several production issues. A final presentation was made as the result of product and market survey, detail analysis and mockups to ensure the unique characteristics of the product.
