DESIGN NAME: Savior's arm to rescue more people
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Free firefighter's hands
INSPIRATION: In fire, firefighters say people inside fire is not the only people in danger. Firefighters are also in danger in fire because they have to struggle to find trapped people and save them. Further more, firefighters can not use their both hands when they save trapped people, putting firefighters and rescued people dangerous at the same time. In other hands, if firefighters can use their both hands freely when they are rescuing, more people can be saved, making firefighters more safely at the same time.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In emergency situations, it takes a lot of strength to lift a person and secure their safety at the same time. Because firefighters have to use their both hands to rescue people, it is impossible for them to handle any emergency situations. Savior’s Arm free firefighter's arms so that they can do rescuing, protecting rescued people at the same time, making rescue processes more efficient.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The thickness of Savior’s Arm fire proof cotton part is designed to provide comfort and maximum protection to rescued people.
When firefighters find a person to rescue, they pull the person up. Then with their ankle, touch the holder to open the Savior's arm. When the Savior's arm is opened, place rescued people on the arm and protect the person with two arm using freely.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The first research was to know how to lift and place them in front of firefighters. The second one was to make the Savior's arm foldable and the last one was to make both users, rescuing and being rescued people, feel comfortable.
To do this, we researched human anatomy to decide the holder's place and to make the rescued people feel comfortable when they are being placed in the Savior's arm. Also, main frame's side that touch firefighter's pelvic bone also designed according to pelvic bone's shape so that firefighters can also feel comfortable when they place rescued people on the Savior's arm.
CHALLENGE: Finding proper length of the main body was the most difficult problem. Because a little different length or shape of the side that touch pelvic bone can make users uncomfortable because the Savior's arm is used in emergency situation so one little inconvenience could directly become any kind of accident. Therefore, making fit to both people (rescuing and being rescued people) was the hardest thing to design.
