| DESIGN NAME: Fold to hold PRIMARY FUNCTION: Paper Tray in Restaurant INSPIRATION: In china, when finishing the meal in fastfood restaurant,customers only have to stand up and leave away.leftover will be taken away and thrown away by waiters.However, customers will sometimes leave the table temporarily for other place like restroom, and his food may be taken away by waiters during the leaving time. We want to solve this problem in a simple and efficient way. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: FOLD TO HOLD is a paper tray mat designed for someone who is having fast food alone. If he/she wants to leave his seat temporarily for somewhere else, he/she only needs to rive the paper along the dotted line and fold it up, which can convey the message of “haven’t finished” to waiters to hold his/her food. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: rive the paper along the dotted line and fold up the paper during the leaving time PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Jan 2015 in China and finished in Feb 2015 |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: 1.printing the keyword such as "haven't finished" on certain place of the paper back and print the instruction in the front. 2.punching the guiding holes to make the dotted lines on paper mat. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The same as normal size. TAGS: paper tray, hold RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research happen in china, we investigate a large amount of restaurant which customer need to use paper tray. This research indicates that the problem we assumed happens frequently. CHALLENGE: In Chinese restaurant, it is common for waiter to take away the finished food leaved by customer. So what will happen when customers leave their table temporarily ? His unfinished food may be taken away by waiter by mistake.
