PRIMARY FUNCTION: Dining Armchair
INSPIRATION: Inspired by the lines and silhouettes of cars at the end of the 1950s, the angles and space futuristic idealism are combined with warm touches provided by the wood and the upholstery. This creates a balance charged with emotion and dynamism.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is based on a set of outlines derived from the 1959 Cadillac; combining moving lines with a comfortable and ergonomic design. The design mixes the styles of the 50's with a modern interpretation, creating a timeless design.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Ergonomically developed to rest the back, it is a delightful furniture to see and extremely comfortable to sit in.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project began in 2013 as part of a collection of five different inspirations, resulting in the first prototypes being developed in January 2014 and mass production for sale in September 2015.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Developed from straight cuts, all joints are mortise and tenon with complex angles that required a mixture of expertise and technology, in order to achieve a sturdy structure and perfect joints. High-level machine manufacturing and workshop was required.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: An investigation of the various species of solid wood to provide resistance was performed, the warmth of the grain and the visual impact needed resulted in the selection of certified beech from German forests. The pieces were designed and tested under conditions of heavy duty to ensure that assemblies and structure have greater durability and the best performance possible.
CHALLENGE: It took four different prototypes after extensive work on the platform and design sketches to achieve aesthetic, style, ergonomics and the necessary strength.
