| DESIGN NAME: Pop Gum PRIMARY FUNCTION: Handle INSPIRATION: The project springs from the desire to innovate a stereotype: the bicycle handlebar. The characteristic shape of the bicycle handlebar join the modern attitude for interchangeability and colours. Tradition and innovation come together in a modern and balanced blend with different materials. With its coloured, transparent cover Pop Gum is cheerful and customizable, you can choose the colour that fits your mood. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Pop Gum is "Interchangeabi OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Pop Gum has a plastic cover that user can easily change. The cover is available in six different colours reflecting the emotional aspect of the audience. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in January 2015 and was exhibited in Fuorisalone del Mobile in April 2015. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The structure is in hot pressed brass with non-toxic gum covers, available in six different and interchangeable colours. The cover can be changed without need of additional operations on the door, there is a fixing pin for the release and the changing of the cover. The pin is fixed at the extremity of an elastic element positioned inside the cavity of the lever handle. This one, in stable position, maintains the pin in protruding position, preventing the removal of the rubber lever handle while using the handle. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Packaging: 1 Pair with 1 cover / 1 Piece with 6 covers TAGS: Interchangeability, funny, colourful, softness, mood. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project springs from the desire to innovate a stereotype: the bicycle handlebar. Tradition and innovation come together in a modern and balanced blend with different materials. CHALLENGE: The structure is in hot pressed brass with non-toxic gum covers.
