PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Bath salt
INSPIRATION:
When I got a request from Client if I can make the packaging for a bath salt related to the moon, I wanted to express the moon lights and its energy in my design.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
SUMO -Super Monument- is a Japanese brand for leading us to wonderful life. One of brand series, "GEKKOYOKU"; is a bath salt which was given the energy from new moon. Since ancient times, in Japan, people believe our spirits exist in nature. Even now, people worship a moon. This is very common thought in our life. The word "GEKKOYOKU"; means sharing bath-time with moon and its lights. Having mystical bath-time is the best revival. In this, great sensibility of Japan tried to convey to consumer.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
You can get some inspirations and be relax from the product of the earth.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in January 2015 in Tokyo and finished in September 2015.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Circle design on Tag is printed by letter press. Also Tag is made by hot stamping with Japanese traditional paper.

Researched a bunch of bath salts in market already and try to produce quite new designed one.

Bath salt is very common product, but tried to make it more luxury and let them image 'moon' easily.
