| DESIGN NAME: PMP Dual Station Dual Injection PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wax Injection Press INSPIRATION: Research suggests investment casting unit required more than four wax injection press. Cost of machine, operator and dwell time are multiplied with the each separate machine.it can be possible to reduce identical component and dwell duration if multi station can be connected smartly, with proper design and smart arrangement of vertical and horizontal nozzle at right angle it can be possible for a single operator to operate both station at a time. Needs better aesthetic and ergonomic criterion. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Wax injection press has been designed with dual station at right angle and having vertical and horizontal injection nozzle at both the station. vertical nozzle with ejector system is a patented design, compact and easy to operate. During operation, start inject dwell eject dwell can be set such that only one operator can able to manage two station and four nozzle. Touch screen based control panel gives real time operation cycle parameter and status. Overall cost and cycle time has been optimized. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Real time operation cycle parameter and status and easy control by touch screen based control panel. Two start button pressing simultaneously can start each station for safety. All the control switches and parameter indicators are on front control panel gives easy access and control. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 15 Months from research, ideation, concept, engineering, prototype and final production. Location : Rajkot, India. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Cnc machining and punching, leaser cutting, sheet metal forming and standard fabrication process required for parts and sub assemblies. Main pillar of the press are made of SS and heat treated. Main frame and work plates are made of ms. The horizontal nozzle injector block is made of aluminium casting alloy lm 25 and heat treated. The wax tank is of aluminium alloy having heater on surface and stirrer inside. The hydraulic motor pump, solenoid valve, hydraulic power pack and cylinder are all as per require standards. While operation separate machine there always be dwell periods in which operator become ideal. These dwell time of single operator can be used.So arranging one horizontal and vertical nozzle station at right angle to another same station, reducing identical components required with smart electronic control can give best solution as multi station wax injection press having two horizontal and two vertical nozzle operated by single worker. CHALLENGE: There are many horizontal nozzle and vertical nozzle press available in market but all require one operator at each station. So it was a challenge to create such a design that a single operator can operate one horizontal or one vertical nozzle at both the station simultaneously. We need to create unique mechanism for vertical nozzle with ejector system as a smart compact unit. We have applied for patent for this mechanism.
