| DESIGN NAME: Jolokia PRIMARY FUNCTION: Boxing Glove INSPIRATION: PROTECTION & PRECISION. This glove was design on a girl hand. For the first time we have a specific mold for girls (in 3 different density). Then, there is the innovative internal sewing system, which leaves the outside without relief parts that can be dangerous during the performance. This system let us give a new "fashion face" to final products. Last but not least, we insert a new inside material that helps to absorb perspiration. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Jolokia’s design was created to satisfy the needs of fighting women. This was the most important aspect of this project. We concentrate ourself in developing a professional product for fighters. We take care of all project aspect to give the best result in woman boxing glove field, improoving forms, materials, stitching and technical details till grafic design; which is different from others design by the colorful and aggressive style. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We belive in Jolokia design as a new point of view in female boxing glove. Is a new design developed to bring the woman to the same professional level of man. It will be a perormant glove (compared to the exiting gloves) for all the technical aspect used to implement the object. It's time to put strong girl on the ring. It maybe will be a begging of a new glove design era. Our pay off? You Stronger! PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2015 with a concept design. It was developed in Turin. After a first prototype realized by a Pakistani Factory, we have define the last details to get ready for production. Production was assigned to same company that realize the best prototype on the standard we required. Ones the first production was ready, the first glove use was to sponsor the reality Fight Clubbing. Now we are under production that will be ready for distribution in September. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The production start with a laser arm to define the existing pieces. With this parameter we redesign the 3D model based on laser and improving design. We make different 3D printing before having final mold. Ones the 3D print was ready, we generate a 3D Iron mold based on our cad matematics. We start test on Poliuretan density, we choose for 3 different density. External part is composed by different pieces of leather joined togheter with a reverse stitching. The inner material is breathable. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 140 mm x Depth 12 mm x Height 28 mm TAGS: Jolokia, Boxing Glove, Woman, Boxe, Professional, Fight, Color, Challenge RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research start with the necessity to let the possibility to woman professional fighters to have the best product during matches. Based on existing design, we improve quality and develope this innovative product. Innovation take place in product design but also in custom design. This was an expected criterion to give a performant & fashion product. We reserch, we study, we design, we develope just thinking on professional girl fighters. This is how jolokia was born. CHALLENGE: I personally find the hard part in 3D redesign. This draw is somenthing really organic (human body) is not like design a concreate or a car. Curves are really difficult respecting the standar we impose ourselfs. But after a lot of hour passed in add and remove millimeters and after some print test we arrive to our objective. A test on girls hands confirm us the good result. technologies, innovative materials and good fashion design respecting the nowday mood in this field.
