INSPIRATION:
1) Tree - Beautiful and unique. Tree bark just like human fingerprints, 2) Metal - industrial materials ( sieves ) made from metal and their interesting plastic properties

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Tree - it is a collection of bracelets in which searching for new plastic forms is based on the idea 100% METAL and metal is the only plastic material used for this collection. The main aim of the project is discovering new plastic capabilities of metal. The structure of tree bark acted as an inspiration for creating new plastic forms of surfaces and unique structure of metal.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Bracelets with unique shape and surface immitating tree bark. Made in from metal with the structure of fabric. Finishing technique enables the artist to shape the surface into such forms which give the impression and look of organic objects.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
TREE is a collection based on using metal of various surface structures and mastering the technique of exploiting unlimited plastic properties of metal. The base of TREE collection was developed in the year 2007 with several jewellery items created every year. Its production technique was developed in the same way as for making most repetitive items but it is the last finishing stage which gives each bracelet unique character and look.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
- the structure - stainless steel in the form of fabric with project technical specification - 100% METAL . - magnetic clasp, made in clasp casting technique - colour - mixed/ own techniques, Metal sheets formed in several stages. First on the repetitive base of the system and finally - shaped by hand. Such a process gives the artist the possibility of creating repetitive items with unique final form. Unique like tree bark.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Tree - it is a collection of bracelets in which searching for new plastic forms is based on the idea 100%METAL and metal is the only plastic material used for this collection. Attempting to change the image of metal perceived as a hard material with limited plastic properties. The structure of tree bark acted as an inspiration for creating new plastic forms of surfaces and unique structure of metal.

CHALLENGE:
Attempting to change the image of metal perceived as a hard material with limited plastic properties. Developing the technique of shaping metal and using stainless steel material with appropriate parameters. Shaping the surface of bracelets characterised by spatial and plastic form. The bracelet with the structure inspired by tree bark is mastered to such a detail that it gives the impression of organic material.

PROFILE:
Pawel Kaczynski was born in Warsaw, Poland. For over 20 years he has been designing and making jewelry. The individual nature of his work is the result of years of experimentation with goldsmithing techniques, the search for new properties of metals and individual technical solutions. His works are not only the collections of jewelry but also an attempt of creative expression in jewelry as a field of art. He took part in over a hundred exhibitions and international competitions of jewelry. His works are in the collections of art museums in many countries.
