DESIGN NAME: Urban Nature Mansion
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House
INSPIRATION: With only 2 people living in this spacious house, providing different usage of each and every corner is the first thought, and creating a stress-releasing home is the primary goal. Introducing the smell of woods and greens into the interior space, slowing down the pace and merge into the air of relax. With a smooth and lazy tune, it is a relaxing scene of dancing through the leaf carpets bathing in a sunshine covered field.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is a 300 square meter mansion located in central Taipei. Urban nature is the main design concept. The house is half-opened to nourish the space with maximum of sunshine while privacy still preserved. Creating a partly hidden and partly visible view in every space. Leading the residents to see their home in many different perspectives and provides little surprises and joy in every corner. Delivering a new concept of living by altering the passage through the house, and make the users discover new angles of their home every day.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2012 and finished in March 2013 in Taipei, Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main materials used in the project are teak, walnut, black iron, stoving varnishing, quartz tiles.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The layout is more like an liver shaped size than an upright square or rectangle shape. Which makes the floor plan more challenging but also more interesting than a regular one. In order to obtain all the private functions for the clients, 3 main domain is being divided. After the dissecting creates the rhythm in every region that can make automatically give a relax feeling while the interior routes connects each other wherever they go.
CHALLENGE: The movements in the house are like dancing curves, neglecting the memorized routes, the designer leads the clients to see their home in many different perspectives and provides little surprises and joy in every corner. Delivering a new concept of living by altering the passage through the house, and make the clients discover new angles of their home every day.
