| DESIGN NAME: Onebip Carrier Billing Technology PRIMARY FUNCTION: Monetization INSPIRATION: Carrier billing offers merchants the opportunity to monetise consumers who do not own a debit or credit card, such as the unbanked and younger demographics, whilst also offering an alternative payment mechanism that utilises a pre-existing, trusted carrier billing relationship. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Onebip enables merchants to seamlessly monetize their goods and services to their users on a global scale using carrier billing technology. Onebip service provides users with a simple, secure and fast way of paying for their purchases via mobile without the need of a credit card or bank account. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Direct Carrier Billing: Purchases are charged directly to the user’s mobile monthly bill or prepaid credit through a direct connection to the operator’s billing system. ISP Billing: Purchases are charged directly to the user’s broadband or fixed line bill through IP address recognition. Premium SMS Billing: Purchases are made by means of Premium SMS sent or received (MT, MO) where the payment is charged to the user’s mobile monthly bill or prepaid credit. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Onebip started in 2005 as the first mobile payment service in the world. Today, Onebip is the mobile payment service of global mobile commerce group, Neomobile. |
