Bicycle Parking System

INSPIRATION:
Cyclok was inspired by the need to find a space-efficient way to manage on-street bicycle storage. Cyc-lok's key design innovation is its unique flat-pack, modular construction system, inspired by the efficiencies of flat-pack furniture. Unlike other bicycle storage systems, Cyc-lok is manufactured using flat or nesting elements which can be stored & transported with maximum efficiency and built on site in minutes with no additional processes. This hugely reduces the cost of storage, transport & assembly and provides for a highly saleable globally implementable business model.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Cyc-lok is an innovative modular system designed to provide convenient and secure parking in public areas. This patented system consists of an array of interlocking wedges that can be arranged in a variety of ways depending on the site. The user books a parking space by smartphone, then uses a PIN to open an onsite locker for storage. The user can even use the accompanying smartphone app to view current parking capacity or book future capacity. Cyc-lok also connects seamlessly to corporate Bike-to-Work schemes, allowing large companies to offer secure on-site parking to their employees.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Cyc-lok uses a number of hi-tech, high volume manufacturing techniques to achieve a lightweight, robust system that is highly durable but extremely cost effective to manufacture, transport and install. The roof and doors are made from thermoformed recycled plastic composites, while the outer panels are made from lightweight aluminium extruded and framed panels. Only two materials, ABS and aluminium are used in the entire construction, which simplifies end-of-life recycling of the product creating an Eco-friendly, sustainable development.

For cyclists who demand safe and secure bicycle parking at their destination, Cyc-lok is an access controlled modular bike locker system containing 12 separate lockers as part of one unit. Cyc-lok is completely enclosed, protecting your bike from 3rd party viewing, providing safety, security and is weatherproof which in turn allows the user to walk away knowing their possessions are safe and secure until they return.
