| DESIGN NAME: ROMA collection DEXO PRIMARY FUNCTION: Collection of fixed and extending tables INSPIRATION: The romanesque columns, we wanted to create a versatile table, extending and fixed, that could be inserted harmoniously and unobtrusive in any type of environment, from classic to minimalist. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The corner joint, cast aluminum, gives the "go" to the legs and to the external frame and extension device. This typology allows the realization of a stable conformation, and sturdy, lightweight and completely recyclable. Declinable in countless sizes, offers the possibility of inclusion of extensions, completely invisible when they are folded under the table, so you can adapt the plan useful to the specific needs of each. All extensions have the same finish and are made from the same material as the main floor. for an easy and comfortable opening of the part extensible, the legs are equipped with wheels on ball bearings, integrated in the closure caps. The structure can be realized with two different series of extrusions, one smooth and one grooved, allowing to obtain product lines completely diversified. In the case of smooth contours, in addition to the glossy finish and painted there is the possibility of having a wood finish, in various essences, obtained with 2mm veneering the extruded aluminum profile. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The operations of extension are much facilitated by the presence of double ball bearings, both on the profiles that the ground terminals of the legs. The extensions come out with a book opening, from the structure, aligning perfectly with the main floor. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: extruded aluminum, cast aluminum, ceramic sheets 3 mm. supported by fiberglass and tempered glass. the use of these materials, completely recyclable, allows to obtain a solid structure and lightweight. The legs of the extending part, are equipped with wheels on ball bearings, in order to make the operation of extension as comfortable as possible. We started with five different concepts and introduced them to some of this industry's leaders. We asked them for feedback in order to pick a concept, enhance it to the next level and introduce to the market a product based on our potential client's needs. This is how we came up with this Collection. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to create a solid yet simple structure, with the proper production and selling costs, easy to use, versatile and designed to last for a very long time. We then came up with a product that could be evolved in two completelly different solutions. We obtained this results realizing two different series of extruded profiles. They both share the joint corner and the mechanical elements; this feature allowed us to adapt the product to any style (classic to minimalist) with the proper production cost.
