INSPIRATION: Boundary has inspired by an old map that has been displayed at the museum. The way of delineations, capturing dynamic mountain ridges and boundary of the land, its topography was highly symbolic, informative and aesthetic. The idea came up with strong feeling that a map could be a textile and used for multi purposes such as home wares in our daily life.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Design thinking has started with one question how we can approach topography design differently in our daily life? Then Research was done based on 3 fields of social issues, aesthetic aspects and innovative materials. The prototypes have been developed using actual size of paper models, experimented in various scales and different parts.
CHALLENGE: Rugs create spatial accents and they are often symmetry shape with repetitive patterns or neutral in appearance. The goal was to challenge to depart from this simple fact. I was also interested in socially engaging designs that people can interact with and that make them to notice social issues.
