| DESIGN NAME: Meta Vessel PRIMARY FUNCTION: Vase INSPIRATION: Meta, a word comes from the Greek preposition which has the meaning of "beyond" and "self". The asymmetric and alterable appearance is inspired by the traditional Chinese Garden. People can enjoy different sights of one object and change the usage mode by themselves. During the process on interaction, the vessel is not only controlled by people but also has effect on user's emotion. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It can be disassembled into different size semi circle shape layers. Users can spin each layer and customizing the perfect shape for their flowers. It applies the theory of "Gestalt": using semicircle layers to build a vase shape. It is an experiment that lets users explore their innermost being through the interaction with the object. The Meta Vessel is an object which tries to give people a chance to look through the object's appearance and find spiritual fulfillment.
