DESIGN NAME: The Greek Campus
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Public Design
INSPIRATION: Inspired by the diversity of human beings.. This design was meant to celebrate all the human differences, imperfections, and diversity.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: An abandoned campus that originally belonged to the American University in Cairo Egypt, was taken by an ambitious entrepreneur to later turn it into a startup hub by transforming what were once classrooms in the historic buildings into office spaces.. The design team were asked to renovate the exterior of the ancient greek building with minimal cost.. The design team re-used mannequins and mannequin pieces in a totally different context.. They brought different cultures together by getting "Pharaohs" to climb the "Greek" building in a race towards success.. They also re-used mannequin hands in the bathrooms, sending a message of support to the young entrepreneurs even by simply holding their mirrors while they wash their hands..

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design objective was to use the tons of scrap left behind when the university moved and produce something meaningful.. The design team used scrap metal, wood, abandoned folders, curtain stripes, broken glass, CD cases, electricity wires, and abandoned windows to design a 24 meters exhibition wall..
