INSPIRATION: Mexico is the source of inspiration. Agaves de Mexico is an exersise of pride, to honor the cultural diversity, the richness of the soil and strength of its traditions. In four bottles, it gathers more than two thousand years of history, recounting the customs of the people who inhabited these lands. Four spirits distilled from the agave, were chosen to reflect an entire country. Sotol is the taste of the North, Mezcal depics the Southern lore, Sisal is the style of the Eastern culture and Tequila has its appellation of origin in the West.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Agaves de Mexico is different from any other product, because the exercise itself is an act of rebellion. There is a lot of regionalism regarding agave drinks, although they are distilled from the same plant (but different species), no one has ever dare before to put them together. It is, an inconceivable act in Mexico, that unifies the whole country into one sole story. It is also, a result of a work that makes the millennial cult of distilling agave and the recognized fine art of smelting silver, merge into a collector's item.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: "Agaves de Mexico" is a cultural and creative exercise, it is the result of the harmonious interaction between design, engineering, craftsmanship, agriculture and history: It is an invitation to the sophisticated art of tasting, enabling to taste 4 different drinks in a comparative way or to enjoy them individually. Its silver and bottle design makes it a collector's item that assures maintain its value forever.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The conceptual project began in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, in April 2014. The metalwork is done in the city of Torreon, Coahuila, same place where the mine from which we extract the silver for this project is located.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Design, culture and logistics are common points in this project. We investigated regulations for export and import of alcoholic beverages in the target countries. It is the fact that they are separate bottles, which allows us to do different processes simultaneously.
Besides, the fact of having handcrafted finishing, favors the possibility of adapting to the target customer needs, which we understood by meeting with distributors, and identifying areas of opportunity, to reach the final proposal.
CHALLENGE: To find the way of showing different drinks but only one product, develop With both, a very Mexican and yet contemporary aesthetic, to evidence the varieties of the Agave plants and distillates, and by communicating a specific conceptual idea: wealth, natural and cultural diversity of Mexico. All fitting to the regulations of the countries of origin and destination, including logistical and security implications and management of precious metals.
