DESIGN NAME: Domesticated Nature
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design
INSPIRATION: The concept for the design was to work with traditional forms and mix modern subtleties to create a relaxed, but energetic feel for the home. Interior was inspired by the wealth of nature forms and soft, organic shapes that can be found in nature. With big, open spaces, luxurious classic furniture with modern design elements, colours taken from the nature, and finest, warm materials the unified interior has been created. Those solutions results in a harmonious, elegant atmosphere.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In this house, all elements work together as a poethic whole, borrowing and returning views and vibration from each other. We used a combination of natural and artificial light, subtle tones of white walls contrasted with beige and gray furniture with black details. Impressive wooden staircase shapes the atmosphere of freedom and space. Living room designed to be an ideal space to unwind, with big modular sofa that becomes an island in the center of a space.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Before the planning, the architects got to know the owner very well. Learned about his passions, hobbys, favourite materials, concepts, etc. A series of interviews has been held, so it was possible to use best, adequate solutions and create an interior, which fits perfectly to the client. That reflects his needs and personality. This project is an embodiment of the owner dreams of having a home, that is a perfect shelter. A space for living, work, relax, receiving visitors and hosting guests.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The architects had took the owner to the Italy, to pay some visits in the italian furniture manufacturers factories and showrooms, to seek and choose the best design solutions. Also to allow the owner to first touch, feel, and see the furniture, before having it in his house. There was also some research conducted on the specific main theme of the interior, that has been chosen together with the owner. Also some research on the finest materials, technology and social and cultural trends in the field of modern architecture.
CHALLENGE: There were two main challenges in this project. First, to create a home, that is not an eyesore to the landscape. To design the building in the way, that makes the landscape and surrounding nature even more beautiful. Because the interior design is as important as the architectural design, here comes the second challenge. To put the vivid, nature based inspirations, taken from the four element of nature into the modern design of the interior and combine them into sublte and elegant space.
