DESIGN NAME: Lithuanian Vodka Gold. Diamond Edition
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bottle decor
INSPIRATION: This time as an inspiration served unique pieces of Lithuanian folk art - straw gardens - pieces of straw are strung together to form diamond-shaped spatial compositions which symbolize the order of the universe. According to ritual custom, straw gardens were used to decorate the home during life's most important moments - for weddings, births, or on Christmas Eve - as a token of harmony.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Expressing respect for traditions and rendering them in a modern manner, Lithuanian Vodka is continuing its series of limited edition vodka dedicated to this theme. By applying modern decor and providing contemporary expression, folk art spatial structures turned into a rhythm of intersecting lines. The play of light and reflections in the overlapping silver and white rhombi recreated an intangible spatial effect. Tradition of times past began to sparkle like a diamond.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design serves as a link between traditions and modern viewpoint: straw gardens as a symbol for special occasions along with the luxury appearance inspire the consumer to cherish the importance of the moment.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: "Lithuanian Vodka Gold. Diamond Edition" was introduced in autumn 2014.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Analysing the meaning of symbols in traditional folk art to transfer their message to nowaday environment.
CHALLENGE: Finding a way to expose 3D objects in 2D surface without losing spatial appearance. We limited color range to white matt glass, white decor, white metal foil. The play of those three contiguous colors creates an unexpected spatial effect: depending on the light and view angle either white decor dominates or silver elements appear.
