| DESIGN NAME: Mini ST PRIMARY FUNCTION: Toolset INSPIRATION: Not true to their name mini bit kits on the market have big cases to carry them any places and they are not durable enough. Our aim in designing Mini ST, is to provide for all people a really small bit set which is durable, compact to be carried anywhere and elegant in its look. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Mini ST is a mini screwdriver set as the name suggests which offers 17 different type and size of vanadium interchangeable bits. With the help of these diverse and rich bits range in contrast to its name user can work on not only just simple work pieces but also complicated ones. One corner of box of screwdriver used for keeping bit that will used for work, the opposite corner which is covered with rubber is used for forcing with finger. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Altough it is small, Mini ST provides an ergonomic solution to its users and getting the precision they want with it. Strong, compact and lightweight, it is a great tool for taking any place along with. Thanks to its undersized dimensions and foolproof box Mini ST can be easily carried in pocket or bag. The box which is produced from transparent polycarbonate or ABS in order to preference covers the bits inside with the help of a plastic holder. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was designed in November 2014 in Ankara. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Injected transparent polycarbonate or ABS, rubber and steel SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Product Dimensions: Width 20mm x Depth 55mm x Height 55mm TAGS: screwdriver, mini screwdriver, screwdriver set, ergonomic design, compact RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After coming up with the idea, then the market research was conducted; since the main objective is creating more durable, compact, lightweight and elegant product compared to the ones existing on the market. In the stages following the concept development some styropor models are made to see holding the tool with differents sizes of hands in order to realize the pressure it creates on the different areas of a palm. CHALLENGE: The biggest obstacle during the process is, testing the product's use on the users with diverse antrophometric data. However, with those productive and successful user tests; with the form and size Mini ST became an ergonomic design for its users.
