| DESIGN NAME: Wraparound PRIMARY FUNCTION: Cord Wrap INSPIRATION: Mess of cables in the office UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Wraparound is a multipurpose cord wrap which is compatible with all notebooks.It makes it easy to unplug and pack up quickly,without having to untangle a mess the next time set up. Wraparound does not only prevent forcing the coil of the cable and unnecessary strain,it also prevents the cables get dirty.Thanks to its material and the form it can be fold into half and be wrapped around the cable adapter.With sticky side,it can be attached on the desk or be twined around the leg of the desk;when it is twined,branding elements on the surface act as lock.Being multipurpose;pens,pe OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Its sleek, new look even features a silicone cover that keeps unsightly cords concealed. Made of silicone it can be carried anywhere and the user does not have to use it just to wrap the cord of a computer. Being multipurpose; pens, pencils, cable of mobile phone chargers and earphones can also be placed between its corrugations. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was designed in July 2014 in Ankara. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Injected silicone SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Product Dimensions: Width 135mm x Depth 50mm x Height 18mm TAGS: multipurpose cord wrap, attachable, pencil box, cord saver, assembler RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After coming up with the idea of this gadget design which is a solution to cord mess in the offices or any area of usage, market research was conducted to see whether there is any product similar to this or not or how and in what way those gadgets interacts with their users and environment. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of the process is to reach the aim of creating a gadget that just not only be used for wrapping a cord but also acts as a multipurpose product. The product could be achieved and the cord could be wrapped in lots of different ways but in this way;user can place some of stationary like pens and pencils and small note papers and the cables of head and earphones between its corrugations.
