| DESIGN NAME: Infinity PRIMARY FUNCTION: Side Table INSPIRATION: Infinity symbol which the shape of a sideways figure eight has a long pedigree and endless contunity, is an abstract concept describing something without any limit and is relevant in a number of fields, predominantly mathematics and physics. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Other than corian, it is nearly impossible to produce the product with any material. Corian gives the opportunity to make it easy. This coffee table has two versions; one of the is the top is white in colour and the bottom part is black. So if you turn it upside down than you have a new coffee table which the top becomes black and the bottom is white. There are 4 different colours incase you want to replace the black colour into yellow, magenta, green and blue. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It is easily possible for the user to pull the side table near the couch and give the opportunity to access it by its shape. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Mass-Production, Corian, Black&White, By twisting the product it occurs refractions and edgy parts on the object as a contrast to infinity symbol's smooth and curvy shape. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Corian Width40 X Depth40 X Height55 TAGS: Infinity, Table, Side, Corian, Black, White, Tulin, Atamer, Karaagac RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research started with how to give different colours to corian. And the finishing details of corian. The rearch started with examining the shape of infinity symbol and how to abstract this shape into an object. At first it was designed as one colour. But later on, it was changed into two different colours to emphasize the form. CHALLENGE: The most challenging things are the choices of material, the feasibility of the form. At the beginning the design of the side table was created as one colour and one material. But then it was changed into two different colour and two material.
