INSPIRATION: India is in the midst of a major demographic transition and we recognize that sbi's customers increasingly expect digital services to help them manage their financial needs. sbi InTouch branches are targeted at servicing these youth, a digital demographic and one that expects financial services to provide solutions instantly. With the use of innovative technology and user-friendly features within the new branches, sbi now leads the way in digital innovation in the Indian banking industry.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The launch of next generation digital branches for State Bank of India's sub-brand, sbi InTouch, across the country as part of it's programme to offer banking solutions to the growing mobile phone and internet savvy consumer base. Targeting the youth in the country the newly launched branches provide instant account opening with personalised debit cards, instant loan approvals, remote expert advisors, interactive walls and table displays.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: These branches are a first step in the journey to offering full digital services across the nation. The newly launched branches provide instant account opening with personalised debit cards, instant loan approvals for car and home, remote expert advisors via video links, and interactive walls and table displays.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design and implementation of six digital branches were completed within 3 months at the latter part of 2014 and are located in major metropolitan areas across India including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Calcutta.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: As part of the programme to offer next generation banking solutions to the growing mobile phone and internet savvy customer base in India, all digital processes and technology within the branches were implemented in tandem with our technology partners in India, Accenture, who also provided back end system integration including employee training.
