| DESIGN NAME: M House PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: To design a ecofriendly house for client. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: M House is a fun holiday home that has been consciously designed to be ecofriendly. The building shows how mezzanine spaces can be used to draw sunlight in through its skylights and windows. Designer has added touches of bright, lively colors and other little artistic embellishments such as LED lamps here and there to add a strong sense of personality and warmth. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Client requested the designer to design an ecofriendly house. Therefore, designer tried to use more natural materials and choose products with low or no VOC content. Besides, designer adopted the folding doors in the living room to enhance the connection between inside and outside that could increase the depth, improve ventilation and introduce sunlight. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2014 in Hong Kong and finished in June 2014. The house is located at Sai Kung of Hong Kong.
