| DESIGN NAME: Tiny Turtle PRIMARY FUNCTION: Decorative Candle Holder INSPIRATION: One day I was watching cute animals’ videos on the internet. A turtle was carrying a cute cat on its back. The turtle was not bothered and even seemed happy with this. That view drew my attention and inspired me so I decided to design a cute Tiny Turtle to carry a small candle on its back. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Purity in design and manufacturing technique is the main difference from similar products. Tiny Turtle is bended from a piece of metal and takes its final form. you can decorate your place or home by using these "Tiny Turtles". OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Tiny Turtle is a tabletop accessory. Tealight candle is placed on the top of the Tiny Turtle. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Sheet metal laser cutting, power sanding, bending and electrostatic paiting techniques were used. ( Materials: 1.5mm DKP Sheet metal ) SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Lenght 10cm x Width 6cm x Height 4cm/ Acetate packaging TAGS: Tiny Turtle, candle holder, decor, candle accessories. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: During this project I wanted to have practical solutions for these problems below. 1. While candles are burning, they can leave burn marks on the surface or table because of high temperature. This was fixed by making high legs by simple bending procedure. 2. Thin Aluminum covers on tea-light can be twisted easily so I made a safe place for candles on Tiny Turtles. 3. Moving tea-light candles from one place to another is not possible due to high temperature. This was fixed by making high holding part by simple bending procedure. 4. Tea-light candles are small so multiple candles are being used in different part of a place / home and we use these candles till their fire go out. And if we don’t get rid of those candles that we’ve used already, it will make the place / home untidy and that will make us uncomfortable. Using those Tiny Turtles we can help us get rid of this problem and use these used candles on Tiny Turtles as accessories in our place or home to decor. CHALLENGE: Making a Tiny Turtle from a single sheet of metal was the most challenging part of design.
