| DESIGN NAME: Illusion PRIMARY FUNCTION: Table INSPIRATION: By applying her primary intuition as a pivotal element in her creative process, Roberta Rampazzo was able to design the Illusion table. A unique piece with elegant lines creating a multitude of optical illusions. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The shape of the table is unique and turns it into an optical illusion. Simple, exciting and a table that plays around with perspective and also with our minds. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The table has two parts, mirror top and the legs. Flat packaging. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in the end of 2012 and finished in the beginning of 2014 with the new version of the flat packaging table. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Carbon steel - powder coating - T profile 0.8'', tube D1'', bronze mirror top SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 900 x 500 x 660mm TAGS: Side Table, Illusion RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Always applying the emotional design in her works Roberta Rampazzo created the table Illusion from simple and innovative lines. Based on studies of the table’s feet she got a playful result that surprises the viewer by its stability and its several angles. A reflection of how our mind is able to delude ourselves. Often we judge our point of view as unique, not realizing that even before just one object can exist infinite perspectives. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge was to reach the best proportions without affecting the stability of the table. NAME: Roberta Rampazzo Design PROFILE: Roberta Rampazzo graduated in 2002 with a degree in Industrial Design from Mackenzie University in São Paulo. She lived for 2 years in London where she researched materials, trends, and worked with design. Back in Brazil, she began designing her own line of furniture as well as for high-end stores such as Decameron (Brazil) and Objekto (France). Her work has been published in Décor and Design magazines and websites in more than 25 countries like: Japan, England, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark and Singapore. Her pieces are currently being sold in high-end shops in Brazil, and also in Europe. Today, back in the English capital, the designer is continuing her creative work with new clients and companies. Noted for their simple and pure lines, her pieces are designed with an attention to being unique. Roberta believes that good design must have form, function beauty and emotion. In creating a piece, the designer always seeks elements that speak to the user on an emotional level. Beyond working with form, she also seeks to use quality materials. Aware of her role as a professional, she uses ecologically and sustainable materials. |
