| DESIGN NAME: Geometry Layer Clutch PRIMARY FUNCTION: Handbag INSPIRATION: This collection is inspired by paper sculpture and the interaction of light and form. The possibility of paper inspired Ellia to create something different from the structure of bags; to create something that transcends the traditional handbag styles. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Ellia Wang design and craft high-fashion bags & earrings at accessible prices. She worked as a designer for nearly 7 years before finally deciding to open her own brand. Taking control of not only the quality, but the conditions in which employees work, the materials and creating bags in a safe, ethical way is her ultimate dream. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Each bag was designed from the ground up. She began by studying origami techniques, then design ideas, paper samples, revisions and finally leather samples. Each bag went though a revision process. She made at lease 3 different pattern sets and samples for each in order to tested out the best structure and ensure a look that is unique and functional. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2014 in Savannah, GA, USA. and it's an ongoing project, and it was funded on Kickstarter with $15000 goal in Nov. 2014. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Geometry Layer Clutch has two colors available: Black&White, Black. Gorgeous Italian Calfskin is fashioned into a well-organized clutch with three compartments. The clutch is fully lined with black pebble-textured vegan leather. Strap is adjustable.
