DESIGN NAME: iHearty
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Biomedical Device
INSPIRATION: iHearty gives the ability to carry an accurate physiological monitor anywhere, without additional devices. One of the advantages of iHearty is that it allows everyone to make baseline measurements at any time, building a database that could allow for improved detection of disease states.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: iHearty is a smart cover that listens for any signals around you and communicates with your smartphone.Every day we spend a lot of time with our smartphone in our hands. iHearty through this continuous contact acquires useful information about our health.
A dedicated set of sensors makes iHearty also able to monitor the conditions of your ambient.
Body sensors: Cardio frequency, Temperature, O2 saturation.
Ambient sensors: Humidity, Pressure, Uv index.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: While you get in touch with your phone the application starts to monitor your heart rate, your temperature and the o2 saturation of your body. The environment parameters are always working to measure the quality of your ambient.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2014 in Milano and finished in January 2015. Was exhibited in "Fondazione Filarete" in September 2014
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design
