| DESIGN NAME: Bunny PRIMARY FUNCTION: Swivel easy chair INSPIRATION: The name comes from the idea to design a chair that the user can love at first sight, a product that you want to caress and embrace like a puppy. The shape of a little pet with its round body and soft fur inspire the design of Bunny that is a product for everybody with beautiful looking at first sight without need to shout. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Elegant with easy handling, the Bunny Low is created for multi-usage environments. Smooth lines and a soft shape make it inviting, cosy and extremely comfortable. In quiet hues, Bunny is relaxed and understated, but with vibrant colors it takes on a liveliness that still does not detract from its sturdy design. Exceptionally versatile and resilient, with different legs variations and a wide range of colors, it can readily suit many different environments from lobby to restaurant. All leg variations are removable and easy assembly allows for space saving packing and transportation. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The chair shall has almost intuitive form, with playful feeling, sophisticated air that belies its technical complexity and functional breadth. It is distinguished by great simplicity, innovate elegance and high comfort. The foam used for the seat has high resilience performance, this invite the end user to squeeze the soft shape. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 20124in Hangzhou and finished in September 2014 in Hangzhou, and was exhibited in Shanghai Furniture Exhibition in September 2014. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The seat and the backrest in one single piece produced by the technology of the cold inject foam with steel frame insert that allow to get a single smooth block, comfortable during the using and nice to look. To ensure a high flexibility we decided that from structural point of view, is a completely normal chair, as it comprises a structure (seat) and legs just like many other chairs. In this way the hidden steel frame can be connect by screws with a wide range of legs for customization to accommodate an almost limitless array of contract applications without altering its essential character. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: With 740mm x Depth 710mm x Height 710mm TAGS: cold inject foam, wool, soft, easy chair, swivel, lounge, animal, organic, pet RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: We spent months thinking a form, making sure it doesn’t use any more material than it needs to – changing the thickness by fractions of a mm – and making sure it’s still robust. When we’ve succeeded with this equation, the result is something that is efficient and to us, a product that is efficient is one that is beautiful.
