| DESIGN NAME: Comfortable Resort PRIMARY FUNCTION: Luxury public facility INSPIRATION: The theme we tried to formulate was: books; a lifestyle of reading. At each point, the design aims to create an ambience of intellectual enlightenment, and an overall sense of culture. The characteristics of the material used in the design area that is charged with simplicity, homogeneity, open-space, and uniqueness. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Chunqing uses simplicity and continuous shapes to that harmonize with its surroundings. The materials used are low in saturation; this creates an atmosphere that speaks of the restrained beauty, calm elegance, and life within its space. The interior responds and harmonizes to its exterior. Both, speak of beauty of integrity and continuity. From a perspective of urban landscaping, the building’s roof design creates a change in the shape of the skyline. This building not only coordinates with its surroundings, it transforms its surroundings. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The public facilities include a reception hall, a banquet hall, a library, a community restaurant, a gym, a reading area, and on the top floor a pool area, with a SPA. Our aim was to create an organic, natural scene throughout the building. The water surrounding the building creates a mirroring effect, reflecting the greens and shrubs that encompass the scenery. In addition, the design eliminates the contamination, pollution and mayhem characteristic of urban areas. At first sight, the design manifests the fullness and continuity of its conception. The change in seasons that the edifice undergoes, five this piece of art life of its own. The view from the inside out, consisting mostly greens planted around the buildings, captures a distinct quality, allowing the outer view to influence the inner ambience; thus creating a resting paradise in the middle of a city. All art pieces ornamenting the halls agree with the overall concept go the building. The unique wooden furniture is a work of art in itself. The interoperation of the spaces, give the building an atmosphere that creates a dialogue with the space.
