DESIGN NAME: 3 Faces
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Three operating-surfaces cutting-board
INSPIRATION: When use a cutting board to process different foods, such as fruits, vegetables, meat. In order to health and hygiene, we should constantly clean the cutting board. If people got a cutting board with more operating surfaces, it will save time and efforts when cooking foods. So I start to design.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 3 faces is a cutting board which has three operating surfaces, by adjusting the buttons on the side of it, the cutting board can change its operating surfaces. It can process three kinds of food at the same time. So it saves time and efforts, and it reduces troubles like constantly cleaning cutting board.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Each triangular bamboo stick of the cutting board is connected by mechanism on both sides. Simply turning the button, each bamboo stick will be unified flip to the other operating surface. These mechanisms which control the rotation of the cutting board are hidden in both sides of the cutting board, when cleaning the cutting board, the mechanisms will not be damaged.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2012 and finished in July 2013 in Luxun Academy of Fine Arts

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The operating surfaces material of the cutting board is Bamboo, the frame is made by metal.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 270 mm x 400 mm x 40 mm
