| DESIGN NAME: Volksbier PRIMARY FUNCTION: PET container INSPIRATION: we combined 2 increasing trends in beer consumption - PET and can type of packaging UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A moulded PET container with an Aluminium lid OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The packaging transmits the traditional joy of beer drinking. Also is a bit courageous because you can see the product in full, no hidden characteristic, clear colour, etc. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 1 month FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Packaging Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: blow moulding SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 115 mm height, 50 mm diameter TAGS: beer, mug, tradition, joy, freshness RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The concept was researched in focus groups asking consumer what it transmits. The main values were described as traditional, joy and also freshness. The male mentioned that the package reminds of good times when drinking in pubs with friends. The married males said that even they drink alone, in house the this moments are coming to their memory. CHALLENGE: Being a concept the challenges are more related to production capabilities. also, celar colour is not so used in beer industry and the UV light effect on beer is a certain concern.
