PRIMARY FUNCTION: Women's Fashion Collection
INSPIRATION: This Project was inspired by the enigma and order inherent in the delicate intricacy and metamorphic qualities of origami.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: At once ethereal and architectural, Vogel is a contemporary women’s wear line with strong mathematical underpinnings.
An intensive exploration of traditional paper folding techniques, centered on the deconstruction and manipulation of the paper crane informed the development of silhouettes, garment components and original digital prints.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Garments were patterned, draped & sewn by the designer. Fabrics were laser cut to give hems & edges a clean and precise finish. Digital prints were derived from photographs of folded paper sculptures & the crease lines of unfolded origami.

2. Abstraction, deconstruction & manipulation of origami forms
3. Translation of folding techniques from paper to textiles
4. Application of these folded fabric forms to the body
5. Integration of folded components into functional garments
