| DESIGN NAME: SELLA/SELLINO PRIMARY FUNCTION: Stools INSPIRATION: Sella / Sellino are born from the observation of two factors: a stool lightweight and easy to carry; possibly a few pieces and an iconic reminder of the object. This can be seen in the form of stools which are essential, and minimal in the structure and shape of the seat that remembers the saddle of a bike (in Italian Sella / Sellino) UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Structure simplicity, attractive design, functionality, are stool peculiar characteristics. Seat shape recalls the one of bicycle saddle from which derives its name. Small size, limited number of components, easing in assembly, are optimal features to facilitate its use. The structure made of birch plywood and with a thickness of 2.2 cm, with interlocking elements, allows to achieve object best strength and lightness. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The use of these stools is very simple: Take for example Sellino (the smallest) : place it on the ground and sit on top of, the ergonomic shape of the saddle will give you a comfortable feeling. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2013in Torino and finished in April 2013 in Torino; and was exhibited in Salone del Mobile in April 2013 FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The structure made of birch plywood and with a thickness of 2.2 cm SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Sella: 37 cm x 37.6 cm – H 75.7 cm Sellino: 37 cm x 37.6 cm – H 48 cm TAGS: Stool, bicycle, interlocking elements, functionality, simplicity RESEARCH ABSTRACT: bibi is a creative duo born in Turin in 2014. For us, the designers are men who create for men, taking into account the needs of men. Our projects are born from the creative process in order to assist the aesthetics and functionality without prevarication of one on the other, we also believe that the ”good design” is a poetic gesture to donate to the nex one.
