PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Oasis uses the current stat-of-the-art in sanitaryware [toilet and sink-basin] hi-pressure tooling as well as traditional drawn-plastics technology [acrylic, fibreglass and carbon-fibre] as used in the luxury motor boat or car industries to form the bathtubs.
The objects can also be formed in solid metal using traditional sculpture technology [sand-casting or even lost wax].

Toilet Suites 400 X 600 X 600mm
Sink Basins 400mm bowls
TAGS: bathtubs, toilets, bidet, sculpture, sinks, basins, sanitaryware, bathrooms, luxury bathrooms
RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Sanitaryware Technology has been limited to manufacturing quality with emphasis on making items small and ultra-minimal to fit into a tiny closet. Sink Basins have gone from the notion of water storage to water flow. Toilets have become more technical - electronic flushing to feet warming to music playing! OASIS brings pleasure to a task normally seen as a chore.
CHALLENGE: The challenge was to go against the ultra-minimalist, hide-it in a closet tendency and create sculptures that were the centre of attention, that would put the pleasure back into escaping into your own private sanctuary.
