| DESIGN NAME: Perkins PRIMARY FUNCTION: Side and coffee tables INSPIRATION: It is a set of tables inspired by the concept of tray. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Its shape and design allow support and hold. The combination of materials creates a unique aesthetic that makes them adaptable to any environment. Glass works as a bearing surface revealing the content. Legs are made of curved tube, and main structure is out of guatambu plywood. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design is based in usage, it is a functional furniture that can be used for storage and also as a table. It is suitable for new lifestyles and small places where people lives nowadays. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project started in April 2014 in Montevideo. In the production stage, it was necessary to adapt the design to materials and manufacturing possibilities. NAME: Diario PROFILE: Diario is a studio founded in 2013 by industrial designers Ana Sosa and Guillermo Salhón. Established in Montevideo, it creates and manufactures household objects and provides design services. It philosophy is to encourage links with local workshops, rescue traditional techniques and optimize production processes. Influenced by Scandinavian design, products arise from the limit between traditional and modern. They are unique, simple and functional objects, produced with high quality materials. |
