PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Bookshelves

INSPIRATION:
minimal and optimized espace.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Board with shelves with an independent organization. Opens one, two, or all. Adapting to the most suitable organization. The finishing can be done in melamine boards, with finishing in various woods, finishing in high pressure laminate with different tones or finishing in lacquer. The # 17 is 60 mm thick and may have the desired length and height. It is a thin plate that becomes robust when open shelves. Being closed shelves this bookcase merges with the wall.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Bookshelf # 17 was developed with the premise to occupy the necessary space, when necessary. Considered to be an extension of the wall when all shelves are closed, or when not being used, and opening the shelves as needed. It consists of 300mm by 300mm shelves 20mm thick. They open by pressing the shelf slightly inward with one click on the magnetic bracket and close when raised in a vertical position and on an axis rotation. The shelves are extremely robust capable of withholding a shelf full of books.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
This project took a long time to be developed (approximately one and a half years), start and finishing in lisbon

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The construction process is done by 3 plates coupled at the end. A first one measuring 20mm cut by laser, a second plate with 35mm where the shelves rotate at the same time serves as support when open. A third 5mm plate which closes the bookshelf in the rear. The hardware used are 35mm deep. Bookshelf # 17 is designed in Fibreboard. It can be laminated with natural wood or lacquered.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Number # 17 is packed between two slices of 20mm polystyrene foam, becoming a sole volume of 100mm in thickness. The height and length of the package depends on the size of the piece. The # 17 contains a hole in the rear and on the 4 vertices, it can be hung on the wall just like a painting, depending on the surface and on the hardware used.
