| DESIGN NAME: HYBRID PRIMARY FUNCTION: DAB radio INSPIRATION: It was predicted by some that radios would be made obsolete by the arrival of PCs and smart phones. This however is not the case! This small accessory represents free, invisible and accessible technology. Simple as well as indispensable, it is at large now more than ever. Going by its rising number of sales, it is here to stay for the foreseeable future… Mathieu Lehanneur has merged the magic of media with the primitive in Hybrid: “Digital intelligence is blended here with a raw material, what might be called smart & craft!“ said the designer who, had already laid down the basis of a design vocabulary with Andrea, combining the virtues of nature with contemporary technology. Hybrid by Lehanneur is therefore a smart object with 2.0 technology partially clad in woven rattan. By combining intelligence with a skilled craft, Mathieu Lehanneur sums up a period torn between his research into future ambitions and what is impossible to leave behind… UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This design combines the natural Rottan material and industrial plastic engineering . It provides a new point of view on traditional handcraft and traditional plastic manaufacturing combination . The new combination provides a fresh experience of enjoying music and radio . The radio and clock setting also very simple by only two knob onthe side . And we keep all features including the antenna in a very clean form .
