| DESIGN NAME: COOKOO 2.0 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bluetooth Connected Watch INSPIRATION: COOKOO aims to make the smartwatch more accessible to a larger public and a more natural experience for the user. Uniting classic analog movement and intuitive digital notifications, COOKOO brings together the power of connectivity with the sophistication of a traditional timepiece. Wearing a COOKOO is as natural as wearing a conventional watch, yet offering the important benefits of connectivity. COOKOO frees users from continually checking their phone with essential notifications delivered, at a glance, on the wrist. Powered by a traditional button-cell battery, COOKOO also free users from the burden of bulky chargers and tangled power cords. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Unlike other geeky smartwatches, COOKOO looks like a conventional watch. The analog hands sit above a lucid digital display that provides notifications though vivid icons and versatile dot matrix screen. COOKOO delivers essential notifications, at a glance, directly to the wrist. Unlike other smartwatches, COOKOO does not need to be recharged every night or week. A traditional button-cell battery guarantees many months of uninterrupted power without a charge. When necessary, the battery can be easily replaced by the user. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When linked with the smartphone or tablet app, COOKOO allows users to cut through the digital noise by customizing settings based on their priorities and selecting which notifications will appear. On the watch face, users can see who is calling or messaging, and decide whether to answer or mute it. Icons can alert users when they have an email or a message on social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Line, WeChat, WhatsApp and more. The easy-to-use interface lets users manage not just calls and messages, but also trigger their camera, control their music and locate their phone. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: COOKOO is a product resulting from the collaborative efforts of CONNECTDEVICE's global team including industrial designers in Europe, software engineers in USA and hardware manufacturing specialists in Asia. |

CHALLENGE: A watch should be, first and foremost, a fashion accessory-not simply a digital display on the wrist. The design challenge is to create a watch that combines both fashion and function, a watch that serves as a useful complement to the smartphone without forcing users to dramatically change their relationship with the wristwatch. They decide which information they want to receive. COOKOO's app allows users to customize notifications and alerts based on their priorities.
